Very delicious curry rice! Very foreigner friendly too with English instructions on how to order. Pros: - Food was great, rice was fragrant and the curry, each of us finish the lamp of curry. - you can adjust the spiciness of the curry for non spicy eaters ! Cons: - wait time was long (mostly contributed to the cooking time - 20+ mins) - beef portion is small, you may need to order extra if you are a meat eater.

Best curry I have ever had! Meaty, perfect amount of spice and salt, deep flavor sauce. Their rice is also local specialty rice. I will return here.

They only served beef tongue curry rice and turns out to be the best curry rice I have ever had! Amazing flavor, good service too. You can choose rice and spiciness according to your liking and you can add more topping if you want. Thin sliced tongue topping suits very well. Their soup was also delicious, you can taste that the broth was well-made. Will be back if we visit Arashiyama again.

Tongue beef tongue kinda put me off at first but I’m glad i bravely took up the challenge as it was really good beef meat ! Well -cooked and wholesome as a dish.

Food was absolutely wonderful. I had the beef tongue curry at level 3 spice. I normally eat hot food and this was just about right. Probably just a little hotter than a madras in UK terms. My wife had the Hayashi Rice. Both had incredible depth of Flavour. Everything is made fresh so about a 30 minute wait but definitely worth it

This curry made me speechless, probably the best beef curry I’ve had in Japan. The beef tongue is incredibly tender and the fat just melts. If you like slightly more sweet and rounded flavours I HIGHLY recommend adding the cheese topping!!! The roasted eggplant went so well with the strong curry as well. And the rice cooked and served in an earthenware pot is just the texture that I prefer, with a nice “al dente” bite to it. Spice wise, level 3 is good for someone who loves very spicy foods, I prefer level 1 which definitely has lingering spiciness but doesn’t overpower the carefully crafted flavours in the curry.

Great concept with only one menu choice: rice with beef tongue. It was simply delicious, the best curry I've ever had. We can chose the preferred level of spiciness. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with about twenty seats and soft background music. The staff is friendly and attentive; exceptional quality.

Curry was delicious with a deep flavor and well cooked. Very hearty and comforting meal on a rainy cold day. There are two choices of rice. We ended up getting the Kyoto rice - very well cooked with a small hint of sweetness. I also ordered an extra egg and shrimp which were also delicious! We also ordered the beef tongue which was also delicious. The standard spice level is quite spicy so would recommend to stick to level 1 or 0 if you don’t regularly eat spice. If you want a challenge, try higher levels of spiciness! FYI: They only accept credit card. They might have changed the name from a prior restaurant and do not serve tofu. Flavorful curry and hit the spot on a rainy day!! Would recommend for someone looking for a comforting meal and needing to rest after exploring the area.
